Coquitlam Deck Post Replacement

Deck Post Replacement: Before
A deck post in dire need of attention had been weathered and had not been properly waterproofed by the previous builder. Over time, the elements had taken a toll on the post, causing it to become discoloured and weakened. The lack of proper waterproofing allowed moisture to seep into the wood, causing it to rot and become unstable. This put the safety of the deck at risk and made it imperative for the post to be replaced or repaired. We needed to come in and remove the old post and replace it with a new, sturdy one that has been properly treated and sealed to ensure it can withstand the elements and provide a safe and secure foundation for the deck. Proper maintenance and waterproofing of deck posts are crucial in extending the lifespan of the deck and preventing costly repairs down the road.
The Upgrade Process
The upgrade process started with the removal of the old, weakened post. We then assessed the surrounding area to ensure that the deck structure is sound and secure. Next, a new, sturdy post was installed in its place and secured to the deck frame. The new post was treated with a waterproofing solution to protect it from future weather damage. We also add additional support in the form of brackets to ensure the stability of the deck. Once the new post is in place and secured, any surrounding deck boards or railings were reattached to complete the upgrade process.

The finished deck post-replacement was a complete transformation from its previous state. The post had previously been weathered due to a lack of proper waterproofing by the previous builder, leaving it rough, discoloured and deteriorating. However, the replacement process involved removing the old post and installing a new one, made from high-quality materials and treated with the latest waterproofing techniques. The end result was a sturdy, gleaming and well-protected deck post that added a touch of elegance to the overall deck design, ensuring it will remain in great condition for years to come, despite any harsh weather conditions.
